I hope all of you are safe and healthy. On Tuesday, June 9, 2020 we will begin Summer workouts and conditioning. These workouts will take place on each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30 AM to 10 AM through June 25, 2020. The 4th of July Holiday week will run from June 29, 2020 to July 6, 2020. We will resume workouts and conditioning on July 7, 2020 at normal times.
During our Summer workouts and conditioning, we will follow the recommended safety and health guidelines set by the AHSAA and the ADPH. A google classroom has been set up with the Google form AHSAA COVID-19 Questionnaire that MUST be completed prior to arrival and participation each day. The Questionnaire will be active at 12 AM each night to be completed. The code for the Google Classroom is: vxuyrj7. If your child has any of the following symptoms please keep them at home until they are symptom free. These symptoms include but not limited to: fever over 100.4, coughing, sore throat, or having respiratory issues.Temperatures will be checked upon arrival; if temperature is over 100.4, they must be taken home immediately.
All players must come to practice dressed and ready to participate in workouts and conditioning. We will not use locker rooms until further notice. Each player should bring his own water (with name on it) and a facial covering. We have purchased facial coverings for each player, but they can bring their own from home if more comfortable. Facial coverings must be worn any time social distancing guidelines cannot be adhered to.
Drop off time is no earlier than 7:15 AM and pick up time is no later than 10:15 AM. Drop off times and pick up times must be strictly adhered to. We ask that each student leave their cell phone in the vehicle or bag upon arrival. All student drivers must exit campus immediately following workouts. Due to the safety and health guidelines, NO parents or guardians are allowed to attend workouts or conditioning activities. Once your student has been dropped off, ALL parents or guardians must exit the school campus until the pick up time.
Drop off and pick up points and designated parking areas are as follows:
A:) Defensive players who drive, will park in the concession stand lot and enter through the single gate by concession stand. You will exit that gate as well.
B:) Offensive players who drive, will park in the lot in front of the fieldhouse and enter through the double gate by the visitor ticket booth. You will exit that gate as well.
C:) Ninth grade will be dropped off and will enter through the double gate by the home ticket booth. You will be picked up at that gate as well.
D:) If you do not have an offensive or defensive designation yet, park in front of the field house and enter through the offensive gate by visitor ticket booth. You will exit that gate as well.
All returning players and new players must go into DRAGONFLY (Code:YBVVGE) and sign: A:) 2020-2021 Student Release Form and B:) 2020-2021 Concussion Form. These forms must be completed before your child can participate in Summer workouts. Each player must also have a current physical on file. Most of the players completed the physicals in January at the annual physical day at the High School. If your child does not have a current physical (within the last 12 months), please have one completed by your physician and upload to the students DRAGONFLY account.
The start of official fall practice will begin on July 27, 2020. Times are TBD. The start to fall practice is one week earlier due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
